From the history books: The Headmaster's kitten

Oct 08, 2019

This was one of the kittens that belonged to the Headmaster Rev. Arthur Coombes and the picture was taken in 1914. The little black cat looks a bit scruffy. Perhaps the boys had been playing with him just before the photo!

Dogs have often featured at Hurst. Were there any in your House belonging to Housemaster or Housemistress or Matron when you were at Hurst? If so do post us any photos you have or give us their names if you can remember. You can always send your stories of life at Hurst to our College Archivist, Mrs Rowland
