Crescent House 20th Anniversary Celebration
Dear Crescent OJs,
We are delighted to invite you to a special event celebrating 20 years of Crescent House — a history marked by House Cup victories, sporting achievements, and a vibrant community spirit.
A Brief Crescent History
The Crescent name has deep roots at Hurst College, dating back to the original Crescent dormitory established in the North East Wing in May 1861. Though it was abolished in 1879 and later became home to the Armoury, the name was revived in September 2006 with the founding of Crescent House under its first Housemaster, Tim Leeper.
Date: Saturday, 6th September 2025
Time: 10:30 AM – Tea & coffee in the Common Room, followed by House and College tours
12:00 PM – Rugby Fixture: Hurst College 1st XV vs Brighton College 1st XV
2:00–4:00 PM – BBQ & Drinks
You are warmly welcome to join us for all or any part of the day’s itinerary.
What to Expect
Join us for an afternoon of nostalgia, camaraderie, and celebration:
Tour the New Crescent House — now proudly located in the former school tuck shop, blending tradition with a fresh chapter.
Rugby Showdown — cheer on the Hurst College boys as they take on Brighton College in what promises to be a thrilling match.
BBQ & Social — enjoy a relaxed BBQ and reconnect with fellow Crescent OJs.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see how far Crescent House has come — and to celebrate the spirit that continues to define it.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
Warm regards,
The Crescent House Team
