The OHJ Over-Sixties London Lunch 2025
Gentlemen,
I am writing this e-mail to all OHJ’s born in or before 1965, by courtesy of the Hurst Foundation, to offer some details of the Over-Sixties OHJ London Lunch planned for later this year, and to gauge the likely level of support for the event. Please do respond with your interest and give us some idea of whether the idea appeals to you and will influence your signing up. Please register, for free to this event, and you will be notified ahead of bookings opening on the 5th May.
A number of us were able to join the 175th Anniversary celebrations held in the school last October: a most enjoyable event, and it was a delight to have participated in the celebration of a significant anniversary for Hurst. It did, however, point up the utility of a London Lunch as a valuable re-union venue for the Over 60’s OHJ’s.
The plan this year is to meet on the second Wednesday in October (8th October) at The Market Porter, E1 7EX, a hostelry with a very good private dining room and bar, and near London Bridge Station and the Borough Market. As in past years, we shall gather at 12.30 for a pre-lunch drink and sit down to a three-course lunch with wine and coffee at 13.00, aiming to disperse between 15.30 and 16.00. The all-inclusive cost will be £70pp and the dining room can accommodate up to 40 of us.
The start of this year’s September term will mark Thirty Years of Girls at Hurst, and we have secured Guest Speaker, OJ Katharine Maloney (Phoenix - 2016), Founder of Elevate(her); a groundbreaking new online platform dedicated to increasing the percentage of women in the aviation industry
The Hurst Foundation will be handling bookings for this event and will close at 18.00 on Wednesday 24th September. Bookings will be on a first-come/first-booked basis, and in the event of there being more than 40 applicants a reserve list will be kept to fill any vacancies left by early withdrawals: your booking will be authenticated by receipt of your payment.
May I urge all Over 60s OHJ’s to sign up to the Foundation’s web-site (all you need is your name and years at Hurst to make your initial registration) after which your e-mail address and a password will allow you access to news of a whole range of Foundation activities, including our lunch.

With kind regards to you all.

As with all our events, we will be taking photos at this Foundation event. These images will be used by Hurstpierpoint College to share news about the Foundation, and to publicise our future events. Images may be used in press releases, social media, printed publicity, and published on the College’s website. They will be stored securely, and we will delete them after they are no longer needed for publicity purposes. We may also share photos with other OJs for their personal use. If you would prefer for you or your child not to be photographed, please email us at hurstfoundation@hppc.co.uk
