Travers Clarke-Walker, Simon Mitchinson and Dominic Williams (Star 1987) came to visit Hurst 35 years after they left and enjoyed a 'wonderful experience' around the now much larger premises.
After walking through the cloisters and perusing the Inner Quad to work out exactly where they performed as an 80s punk band, we headed to the chapel and dining hall with much reminiscing and admiration of some of the new buildings. They recalled HRH Prince Philip arriving by helicopter and opening the new labs in 1985 and were most impressed with the New Bury theatre. The old theatre had some memories of drum practice and the tour around their old house, Star, enabled them to find their old dorms with tales of lamposting!
After taking photos to show fellow OJs, the gentlemen were then on their way to Brighton to chat about the 80s at Hurst and catch up on the last 35 years. Hurst Foundation were delighted to welcome them back and loved hearing their tales as did Star Housemistress Sharon!
