The Over 60s London Lunch Re-Launch

Yesterday, the Hurst Foundation hosted a heartwarming Over 60s Lunch at the charming Market Porter dining room, nestled in the heart of London’s Borough Market. The traditional London pub provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable afternoon of reconnection and celebration.

Guests were treated to a marvellous three-course meal, with conversation and wine flowing freely as Old Hurst Johnians shared stories, rekindled friendships, and welcomed new faces. It was especially lovely to see several OJs attending their first alumni event, adding fresh energy to the gathering and reminding us of the enduring strength of the Hurst community.

The atmosphere was one of warmth, nostalgia, and genuine joy, as guests reflected on their time at Hurst and the journey since. The dining room buzzed with laughter and storytelling, making it clear that this event holds a special place in the hearts of those who attend.

The highlight of the afternoon was a fantastic talk by guest speaker Katherine Moloney (Phoenix - 2016), who shared the inspiring journey of her founding company, ElevateHer. Katherine spoke passionately about her mission to support and empower women in aviation, detailing how far the initiative has come and her hopes for its future. Her story captivated the room, sparking thoughtful questions and lively discussion among attendees.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Katherine for her engaging and thought-provoking contribution to the day.

We’re delighted to announce that this cherished lunch will be reinstated as an annual event, and we look forward to welcoming more OJs in the years to come.

In the meantime, we extend a warm invitation to all OJs to visit us at the College whenever they can—whether for a tour, a cup of tea, or simply to reconnect with the place that shaped so many lives.
