CELEBRATING 175 YEARS OF HURSTPIERPOINT COLLEGE

2024 marks the celebration of 175 years of Hurstpierpoint College. Founded by The Rev'd Nathaniel Woodard, the College opened in 1849 in Shoreham before moving to its current site in 1853. To celebrate this milestone, we are delighted to have partnered with international award-winning Court Garden, producer of memorable hand-crafted wines, who have created this quality wine we hope you will enjoy, not only this anniversary year, but also over the years to come.
Court Garden is a family-run, single-estate vineyard and winery, producing English sparkling and still wine, solely from the grapes grown in their beautiful vineyard in Ditchling. Their wine is a celebration of the seasons; in 2018 colder weather in early spring delayed budburst and, untroubled by frost, the vines had good flowering. The Summer provided near-perfect conditions for a brilliant harvest and a great vintage.
The wine will soften over time, both in terms of acidity and the level of effervescence. If the wine is kept in a dark place where there is stable temperature, the cooler the better, then this wine should be enjoyable in 10-15 years’ time.
