The chapel underwent a major transformation this summer. All the lights were replaced, and more have been added to further illuminate the wonderful ceiling. One of the stained glass windows was completely removed to replace the corroded lead bars—a delicate task—and glass balustrades have been added to the stages near the altar, as well as oak cladding to make it more in keeping with the surrounding decor. The blue carpet, installed back in 1992, was also completely removed, revealing the lovely original floor tiles. The reredos behind the altar, has also been cleaned, which required great care and specialist machinery.
