A further £10k is needed
In terms of Amanda's current plans, she is in need of a further £7000 to complete the extra classroom wing. Currently it stands at roof height, and unfortunately building the roof is going to be extremely expensive. Completing this project is vital to improving the everyday experience of the children and teachers and a further £3000 is needed to build a wall around the school, which is currently not a secure space for the children and is vulnerable to theft. Looking towards the future, her ultimate goal is for the school to be entirely self-sufficient. At the moment, it needs just £2,500 to run annually. In order to achieve this, however, the school needs another project such as a small shop to raise further funds. Unfortunately, once again, this is impossible to implement before the wall is finished.
We Are Hurst
The college has been hugely supportive in raising funds for Cameron’s Orphanage Project and the Hurst Community is always finding ways to support the project with donations and fundraisers. Donations, however small, are always welcome they are sent in their entirety to the school in Zambia. These can be made through the website, at https://italafoundation.com/howtohelp, with the opportunity to add Gift Aid too. Or perhaps you would like to take on a challenge and be sponsored to raise funds?
