Phoebe Lewis, Head of Psychology and leading the academic side of sustainability at the college, reached out to our Alumni for our Shell and Remove Sustainability Day in June.
We had 400 pupils keen to learn about sustainability; what it is, misconceptions, linking with UN targets that may appeal to teenagers and which careers they could go into. This meant attracting as many speakers as possible and we were thrilled with the engagement we received from our OJs who accounted for a third of our sessions that were run with carousel activities, workshops and group discussions.
From waste management to renewable energy and green living to permaculture, we ran a very successful day and are very grateful to those who were able to help our students learn.
A huge thank you and if you feel there is something you are able to help with at Hurst, be it from your occupation or personal interest, please do let us know at Hurst Foundation.
We were delighted with the response and will continue to reach out to our amazing Alumni for your support in the future.
