Since leaving Hurst, Graham Beck (Red Cross - 1971) has continued his passion of playing hockey and has never missed a season, even 50 years after leaving the school! A member of Winchester Hockey Club for the last 36 years, he is now a life member having been Club Chairman for eleven years.

More latterly, over the last 20 years, Graham has taken up umpiring and he umpires every Saturday across Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, Wiltshire and West Sussex. In 2017 he was invited to umpire at the Grand Masters European Championships in Glasgow followed by the World Cup in Barcelona in 2018. This year Graham was given the amazing opportunity to umpire the younger age group at World Masters Hockey Cup in Cape Town, umpiring a total of thirteen international games. The photo shows Graham (right) with his German colleague after they had umpired the final of Singapore v USA.
