Sunday 17th September and West Sussex Golf Club was the Venue for the Sussex Schools golf competition. This competition was played similar to a Grafton Morris tournament and played by four teams of six from: Hurstpierpoint, Brighton, Lancing and Eastbourne.
After a few late changes Hurst put the team out of Alex Fleet, Joe White, Charlie Parsons, Christian Wimshurst, Russell Ogden and Rob Huxford . The weather was looking very wet for the midday forecast so getting a strong start in the morning rounds was important and thankfully all matches were played and managed to get in and enjoy a delicious lunch before the heavens opened.
After the morning rounds the scores were Hurst 6 winning all their matches followed by Brighton 4, Eastbourne 2 and Lancing yet to score. Hurst went into the afternoon rounds with the first few holes in waterproofs and after three holes it turned out lovely for the rest of the day and evening.
After the afternoon rounds Hurst managed to score 4 points winning two matches and loosing one by the finest of Margins on 18 . Brighton 3, Eastbourne 2 and Lancing 3 .
So after careful calculations, Hurstpierpoint came out on top again securing the win for the second year in a row.
In the overall rankings, Hurstpierpoint and Lancing are now joint leaders both holding 6 victories.
