We interested to hear recently about Andre Bardega's (Lowe's 1961, Chevron 1966) remarkable Hurst Athletics achievements.

In the Summer of 1961 Andre, at that time in the Junion School, came first in every single Athletic event. As can be seen from the extract below, 'Mr Athletics' also broke three school records! 

We thought we would find out from our Director of Sport whether Andre's record has been equalled over the years. Rob Kift's reply was as follows:

“We don’t have any up-to-date records for the prep school but I am sure that such a clean sweep of athletics events has not been achieved since his remarkable performances in 1961.  More recent performances would have been in metric in any case, so it would be impossible to compare the results.”

Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of the athletics, but the photo here is of the Cricket Team of that time.
