It’s not every day you get to meet the Queen..…
But Max (Eagle - 2012) did exactly that at last week’s Chelsea Flower Show!
Max's stunning creation, the RHS x UBS: Moments of Reflection — an 800 sqm masterpiece in the heart of the Great Pavilion - celebrated the incredible talent of UK nurseries and growers. Sponsored by UBS Wealth Management, the installation featured plants from four top nursery exhibitors and showcased their specialist skills.
Max describes it as follows:
'Chelsea 2025 was my most challenging project to date. Being almost double the size of a Main Avenue garden, the Paviliion is the largest space at the show. The design focuses on the grounding effects of going for a walk through natural environments. I brought an amazing team of skilled craftspeople together such as drystone wallers, thatchers, carpenters, earth renderers & of course plants
people; all whom are worth celebrating. The slight twist is that the design is a modern take on traditional materials.'
Natalie Ashbee, Shows Editor at the RHS, named it one of her ‘Picks of the Pavilion’ and praised it as a ‘standout design’ — and we couldn’t agree more!
Huge congratulations to Max, not just for this extraordinary achievement, but also for that show-stopping jacket! We’re thrilled to name him our June OJ of the Month.
Keep an eye out for more on Max in the Hurst Foundation magazine, coming later this year.
