1902 - Hurst College Swimming Pool
Swimming has long been part of Hurst’s story. The College’s first pool opened in 1902 as an open-air facility, offering students a refreshing dip in the warmer months. In 1981, the pool was covered and heated, marking a significant upgrade that served generations of pupils and staff.
Now, over four decades later, we are preparing to unveil a new chapter in Hurst’s aquatic history. The new swimming complex will feature a six-lane pool equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, designed to support both competitive training and recreational use. It promises to be a vibrant hub for sport, wellbeing, and community.
We are especially excited to showcase the new pool during our upcoming Foundation Day in October, where OJs will be among the first to tour the facility. As part of the celebrations, we’re also hosting a family swim session too, so bring the whole family!

This new facility is more than just a pool—it’s a symbol of Hurst’s ongoing commitment to excellence, wellbeing, and community spirit. We can’t wait to welcome you in.
