Mr Kift travelled to Exeter last week to host our latest Hurst@Uni gathering, bringing together OJs currently studying at the university. These reunions, held in university towns across the country, are an important way of maintaining the strong sense of community that defines the Hurst experience long after pupils leave the College.
The Exeter meet‑up offered a relaxed opportunity for OJs to reconnect with one another, share updates on their studies, and reflect on their time at Hurst. For many, it was also a welcome chance to speak with Mr Kift about how they are finding university life, the challenges and opportunities they are encountering.
A particularly special moment came when Mr Kift was joined by two members of the 1994 cohort—James Walsh (Star, 1994) and James Spratt (Lowry, 1994 – Shield). The pair had not seen each other in over 30 years.
We are grateful to all the Exeter OJs who joined us and look forward to continuing the Hurst@Uni series with visits to other university cities later this year.
